Champlain Colloquium August 1st
Limited 1/2 off the price of admission is available to AFLCR members by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
Samuel de Champlain forever changed the history of our region by naming its green mountains “le Vermont.” His maps and travel journals offer unparalleled insight into not only the discoveries made in his repeated trips, but what it took to make the missions successful each time. This colloquium is a must for teachers wanting to inject their curriculum with a dose of “real world,” as guest speakers and presenters not only bring the man and his adventures to life through original documentation, but also show how his leadership inspired and valued those who dared travel with him to Nouvelle France.
The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum is located on Lac Champlain just west of historic Vergennes, Vermont, and will be hosting enthusiasts from around New England. Our thanks to the Department of Foreign and Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures at Saint Michael’s College for including us in this important project.
