Cure for Jet Lag: Be a Morning Flâneur

by Wayne Senville

Lila and I, recovering from yesterday's unexpectedly delay-filled travel day from South Burlington --> Montreal à Frankfurt --> Karlsruhe --> Strasbourg, followed by a needed room change at Happy Culture's Hotel de l'Europe, hit the nearby rues and ruelles as flâneurs right after our petit déjeuner.

Our Road Scholar trip would be starting that afternoon when we'd meet our guide and our group of fellow Road Scholars.

We quickly saw that we were lodged in the heart of Strasbourg's historic district, close to the canals of the Petite France district—though we'd soon realize that much of Strasbourg is historic—with one big exception: le Quartier européen, where the European Parliament and assorted European government functions are located. But more on that part of Strasbourg in my next post.
