Tuition rate
A person does not have to be an AFLCR member to enroll in a class.
AFLCR members receive a 10 percent discount on tuition on all classes. You must be an AFLCR member at the time of registration to get the
discounted rate—it’s not retroactive. Students who are not AFLCR members pay the full tuition rate.
Payment
Payment must be made in full at time of registration, either on the website or by check mailed to: AFLCR, 43 King Street, Burlington, VT
05401.
Textbooks
Students are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks. We do not provide them.
Course cancellation by AFLCR
The AFLCR reserves the right to cancel a scheduled course if its minimum enrollment quota (typically 4) is not met. We will notify
already-registered students of the cancellation by email and/or phone call before the first class meeting. They will be offered a full
tuition refund. If they prefer, they may receive a tuition credit or the option to transfer to another class. If they choose the credit,
they may apply it to a future AFLCR course within 12 months from the date of the canceled class.
Enrollment cancellation by student
A registered student who wishes to cancel their enrollment in a course must notify the School Director by email to education@aflcr.org, or
by regular mail to: AFLCR at 43 King St., Burlington, VT 05401. The message must state the name of the course and the reason for the
cancellation.
If the student cancels their registration before the first class session, they will be offered a full refund or credit. If they
choose the credit, they may apply it to a future AFLCR course within 12 months from the date of the canceled registration.
If the student cancels their registration on or after the first class session, no refund or credit will be offered. In extenuating
circumstances and, at their sole discretion, the School Director may offer a partial or total refund or credit.
Missed class sessions
If a student misses one or more classes within a course session, the AFLCR will not offer a refund or credit. If the student knows in
advance that they will miss a session, they may arrange with the instructor to receive a recording, if one is available. (All the other
students in the class must consent to the recording.) (This item applies to online classes only.)
If a teacher must cancel a class meeting, they will notify all students by email or telephone. The teacher will make up for the lost session
by scheduling a makeup class, on a date agreed to by the majority of the students.
If the AFLCR unexpectedly needs to close due to inclement weather or other circumstances, we will inform in-person students by email or
telephone. We will make every effort to make up the lost class time during the current session. Online classes will not close during
inclement weather.
