This course will briefly revisit the most challenging material of Unit 5 before moving on to the new theme of Leisure Time in Unit 6. New
vocabulary includes describing people and daily activities, and grammar structures include the recent past as well as reflexive verbs.
Students will learn to talk about their favorite activities, refine their telling time as well as proposing and accepting invitations.
Frequently used helping verbs and irregular -IR verbs are also covered. Learn to use the language in authentic and engaging real-world

7 weeks—Hybrid from 43 King Street, 3:30-5pm, Wednesdays from January 14 to February 25
This class will first review the main themes of Édito A1 Units 5 and 6 through conversation and role-play of real-life scenarios.
Topics will include regular and irregular verbs in the present tense, adjective agreement, shopping, reflexive verbs, physical
descriptions, and pastimes. Then, we will delve into Unit 7 to learn vocabulary of the lived environment and introduce the passé
composé. In addition to conversation, games, and songs, videos will be used to approach language from multiple modalities. Teacher: Johanna

7 weeks—In-person only, 6-7:30pm Tuesdays, from January 13 to February 24
This course will meet to cover the material in Unit 10, “At Work,” as well as to review those expressions and structures which
proved most difficult in the A1 curriculum. Special emphasis will be placed on speaking in the past tense, review of the other verbal
structures used to date, and conversing to get one’s needs met and to talk about one’s own life and experiences. Vocabulary
themes in Unit 10 include higher education and professional life. As always, proper pronunciation and cultural considerations are included.
