French Heritage Learners Round Table

43 King Street, Burlington VT 05401
UVM's Patrick Leahy Honors College and the AFLCR are collaborating on a study of current adult students who identify as heritage learners, and the parents of children who are growing up in a French-speaking setting. We have created two short questionnaires. If you are a current French student or have studied French yourself in the past, use this link. If you are the parent of a young person who is growing up in a French-speaking context, use this link

On Thursday, March 26, 1-2:30pm, the AFLCR will be hosting an open-house-style round table for interested community members to meet with UVM students and discuss their experiences as adult learners and their motivations for learning or reclaiming the French language.

If you grew up hearing French spoken in your home environment, you may have spoken it as a young person, or perhaps felt the need later in life to learn the language that was not imparted to you, please consider attending and sharing your experience with us. The Honors College class and professor Dr. Ying Hu hope this is  the beginning of a long-range effort to value, advocate for, and provide for heritage learners of all kinds in Vermont.

RSVP to Marc Juneau at education@aflcr.org or to Dr. Hu at Ying.Hu@uvm.edu.
