This class covers Units 7 and 8 in Édito A1 but will start with a brief review of elements in preceding chapters that are needed
for clear communication (regular and irregular verbs and the recent past and near future). Units 7 and 8 build on these concepts with a
focus on the themes of the home and personal health while introducing the passé composé and the pronoun y. While classes will
always include practice of vocabulary and a new grammatical topic, class time will focus on speaking and listening activities including
partner and group conversation, videos, songs, and games. Come immerse yourself in French, engage with classmates, and have fun! Teacher:

Beginner French Club - Le Cercle français (A1 review class)
This class is designed for A1-level students who don’t feel they have had enough practice with the vocabulary and structures of our standard beginner curriculum. Using a communicative approach, students must listen carefully and then follow the scripted lead of the instructor to “hear” their way through basic questions and dialogues. In this manner, grammar and essential terms are learned intuitively rather than relying on translation. Let Christelle walk you through the essential A1 learning points to help increase your confidence in speaking and listening: first tenses, vocabulary to meet basic needs and proper pronunciation. Teacher: Christelle L. Utende
Teacher will provide materials, but students may wish to refer to their Edito A1 textbooks.

of view and engage in one-on-one conversations with different partners. Édito’s great variety of real-world resources and
practical exercises requires students to draw from their knowledge base while fine-tuning their own expression. Join this class to explore
subtle cultural differences and reflect on what it means to be a global citizen! Teacher: Marc Juneau

A vous la parole! Advanced self-directed conversations
In this Spring Session, we will continue our casual and personal, yet focused conversations with more student direction. Participants (supported by the prof) will choose topics based on their interests and curiosity, which will become those focused conversations. These may be generated from a short story, photographs, a news article or report, a recipe, a play, a video, and so on. These topics will be determined before class, so students have the time to prepare their ideas. In addition, we will be challenging ourselves with weekly grammatical mini-reviews to be applied in very controlled discussion to accomplish our ULTIMATE GOAL: to increase one’s comfort level with these advanced structures and the language. No book required. Instructor: Marcus Grace

B2 Club Magazine
Club Magazine returns in 2026, with all-new content for the Spring Session! Based on the Bien-Dire culture magazine for intermediate
and advanced
French students, the varied topics serve as a launching point for engaging discussions. While more emphasis is placed on acquiring cultural
understanding and nuanced vocabulary, students can also choose to explore tricky grammar structures. The open discussion format is designed
to encourage student input and reactions to the various readings that cover social news, francophone personalities, the arts, travel, and
language! We listen to some articles in class and engage in related exercises to retain new expressions. Virtual copies of Bien-Dire
are provided, so the use of a tablet or second screen is strongly encouraged. Teacher: Marc Juneau.
