All summer sessions will be offered in a hybrid format (Zoom video and in person at 43 King Street).

CANCELLATION POLICY:  Under-subscribed classes will be cancelled at the discretion of the AFLCR;  this is the only case in which refunds can be made. Usually 5 is the minimum enrollment to run a class.

CLASS STATUS:  It will be noted on this page if classes have filled or been withdrawn or if their status is in question, requiring contact with the Director of Classes before registering.

Beginning French

This class is targeted for newcomers and novices of the language. Students will focus on talking about themselves and those around them, understanding some basic grammatical structures, and getting some practice with some basic scenarios.

High Novice/Low intermediate Cultural Exploration

This class is for those with some experience with the language. The class will focus on scaffolded discussions of and lessons on contemporary culture. This could include but is not limited to current events, literature, cinema. We’ll use the first class to identify topics that people are interested in. The goal of the course will be to practice expressing one’s opinion and thoughts using a variety of vocabulary and grammatical structures.
