Pierre Bensusan (b. 1957) is a French-Algerian acoustic guitarist. His ancestors, Sephardic Jews, came from Spain, Spanish Morocco, and French Algeria. He studied piano from the age of eight and guitar from eleven. His debut album, Près de Paris, won the Grand Prix du Disque at the Montreux Festival—he was all of seventeen. His music has been characterized as Celtic, folk, world music, new age, and chamber jazz. He has published three books of music and tablature. Here’s a video of him playing his guitar.
