Linda Pervier honored by France with the Palmes académiques

Christophe Guilhou, Consul General of France at Boston and Honorary French Consul for Vermont Ernie Pomerleau presented the prestigious Ordre des Palmes Academiques to AFLCR President Linda Pervier. Read the story.


Mr. Ernie Pomerleau, Consul honoraire de France pour le Vermont, Mme. Linda Pervier, Présidente de l'AFLCR, M. Christophe Guilhou, Consul général de France à Boston / The General Meeting of Members of the Alliance Française of the Lake Champlain and the award ceremony took place at Shelburne Museum, where Mme Pervier works as Development Officer. Birdie MacLennan explains a bit of her history with learning French and promoting French culture, accepting nomination as the next Board Secretary for the Alliance Francaise of the Lake Champlain Region.
Lise Veronneau, organisatrice de la soirée et Linda Pervier, portant fièrement sa nouvelle médaille/ Lise Veronneau organized the award ceremony and the business meeting at the Shelburne Museum. The evening began with a tour of the museum's French Impressionist artworks , followed by a mad dash in the rain to the nearby gallery for the evening's main event. Linda conducted the annual Alliance Francaise meeting with lively participation from key members and the enthusiastic crowd in general.
Honorary French Consul for Vermont Ernie Pomerleau shared his experience and praise for Linda. Then French Consul General in Boston Christophe Guilbou gave a touching personal tribute to Linda and presented her with the decoration. Finally, all enjoyed refreshment and delightful conversation. A truly lovely celebration for Linda!
